We are pleased host an educational webinar for our Oregon members and guests. Learn about Oregon Work Share and ask your questions regarding this program that helps retain valuable employees through cyclical business cycles.

The Oregon Employment Department has enhanced a program that provides an alternative to layoffs. The “Work Share” program, allows part-time unemployment benefits to be paid to employees whose hours are reduced as a part of a plan to keep the workforce intact. Staff members stay employed and keep their benefits, and the business stays ready to accommodate the next boost in the market. In this webinar the speaker will explain how Work Share can help save employers money, how it helps improve staff morale even in uncertain times and ways the program has been streamlined to better improve access and use.

“It's so easy to use. You check off a couple boxes on a one-page form and scan it to the labor department. The lack of red tape is reassuring for everyone.” -Lisa Maxim, a human resources manager at Oregon Aero Inc.

“Sheldon Manufacturing has relied on Workshare primarily for employee retention. In many cases, we have employees who have been here for over 10, 15 or 20 years. They possess a tremendous amount of experience and skill that would be very difficult to replace if they were to leave. Work Share enables these employees to work part time during periodic slowdowns, and still receive benefits for the part time missed. Sheldon Manufacturing benefits by retaining these employees on its workforce. -Patrick Boileau, Sheldon Manufacturing
