The R&D tax credit can be a valuable incentive for Defense and Security businesses that are eligible.  For companies that are new to the tax credit, learn what types of projects and activities qualify for the credit, along with the expenses that can be included.  For companies that have been taking the credit, make sure you are maximizing your available credit and meeting the documentation requirements.

Presented By:

        Carrie Sowders, Partner, AKT

Carrie has over eighteen years of public accounting experience serving as a creative tax advisor to large and medium middle-market manufacturing and distribution companies.  She brings to AKT depth in multi-national corporate tax matters, state and local taxation and income tax accounting.

Andrew Lane, Partner, Tri-Merit Specialty Tax Services

Andrew is one of the most experienced professionals in the specialty tax industry.  Since co-founding Tri-Merit in 2007, he has been responsible for managing the execution of hundreds of R&D tax credit studies across a broad range of industries, as well as overseeing all of the firm’s specialty tax services, which include §179D deductions, cost segregation studies, and work opportunity tax credit engagements.  In addition to leading Tri-Merit’s technical staff, he still maintains personal involvement in many of the firm’s client engagements, and his experience includes defending R&D tax credit claims in audit, and regularly presenting on specialty tax incentives.
