Cybersecurity Seminar Helping Northwest Defense Contractors Comply with Federal Acquisition Requirements
Many direct and in-direct government contractors will need to comply with new cybersecurity requirements. Chief among these are the FAR 52.204-21 and DFARS 252.204-7012 that require implementation of NIST SP 800-171 no later than December 31, 2017. Need help?
This event will review these requirements and offer practical, actionable steps you can take to comply. We encourage both technical and management staff to attend as many of these requirements are policy focused, as well as addressing IT system configuration.
Presentations:
Cybersecurity – Updates and Best Practices for Federal Jonathan DeMella & Lisa Marchese, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP Summary and best practices for implementation of the 15 required basic security controls referenced in Safeguarding Contractor Information Systems (FAR 52.204-21 and DFARS 252.204-7012.)
A Practical Approach to Complying with Safeguarding Contractor Information Systems Requirements Tom Cornelius & Leo Cuellar, ComplianceForge ComplianceForge will provide a checklist and review the policies and technical requirements based on the NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Special Publication 800-171. This NIST publication provides a road map for each company; what you have done, what needs to be done, and ongoing duties to reduce risk and prove compliance.
Microsoft Will Discuss How Cloud Computing Changes Traditional Approaches And Enhances Capabilities For Safeguarding Information Systems And Applications Scott Oxley & Ryan Socal, Microsoft
